WHAT IS HYPOXI?
HYPOXI was developed in 1999 by a team of Austrian doctors who recognised the growing need for a natural and scientific approach to cellulite and fat loss. Today, HYPOXI has established itself as a global leader in innovative weight loss systems and is operated in over 32 countries worldwide.
The team behind HYPOXI specialised in rehabilitating women after operative procedures and injuries. The doctors had a great deal of experience with traditional vacuum therapies – they had noted that the increase in blood flow which the vacuum therapies induced could accelerate the rate of repair of damaged tissue. At the same time, they acknowledged that exercise is critical to maintaining health and metabolizing fat.
Against this background, the team developed a technology which couples the advantages of vacuum therapy and exercise – the genesis of HYPOXI. What they discovered in the course of their initial trials, was that the patients were not only recovering at a faster rate, but they were losing a disproportionate amount of body fat from the areas where the vacuum treatment was applied. In addition, most clients noted a dramatic reduction in the appearance of cellulite.
The team at Hypoxi swiftly engaged an independent expert in orthomolecular medicine to investigate into the science of this phenomenon. The findings were clear: genetics dictate that we have areas of our body where circulation is strong and areas where circulation is poor. Women for example, being built for child birth, tend to have very poor circulation in the lower abdominal region, hips, buttocks and thighs. As blood is the means of transporting fatty acids, oxygen and nutrients around the body, it follows that if blood circulation in a particular area is poor, then the body’s ability to metabolise fatty acids in this area is also poor. This explains why many people find it difficult to lose weight from certain parts of their body, despite rigid diets and exercise regimes.
Hypoxi is effective because it requires the client the get their heart rate to an optimum fat burning level and then begins to apply a vacuum therapy on the problem areas of the body. By promoting blood flow to these problematic regions during exercise, Hypoxi is able to dictate where the fat is burnt during the session. It has been shown that with HYPOXI, up to 80% of the fatty acids consumed during the treatment are sourced from the targeted areas.
Controlled studies involving up to 530 women have concluded that HYPOXI users lose on average 3 times more circumference loss from the targeted areas than that achieved with conventional exercise. HYPOXI has been hailed in Europe as “the most effective fat burning and cellulite reduction treatment to come on the market” (She Magazine, June 2005). Today, there are over 2000 HYPOXI clinics and 250,000 annual users across Europe and the Middle East alone, including high profile users such as Robbie Williams and Simon Cowell.

WHICH MACHINE SHOULD I USE?
L250
This treatment is best suited to candidates with stubborn fat deposits and poor circulation in the thigh, buttock and hip region. In order to determine if this treatment for you, after 30 minutes of exercise touch the skin around your legs, buttocks, hips, stomach and chest. If the skin on your upper body is warm, but your thighs and buttocks feel cold, then you are prone to the development of cellulite and fat build-up in the lower half of your body. This is because fat cannot be lost with conventional training due to poor blood supply to these areas.
VACUNAUT
This treatment is best suited to candidates with poor circulation in the stomach region. In order to determine if this treatment is for you, after 30 minutes of exercise touch the skin around your legs, buttocks, hips, stomach and chest. If the skin on your lower body is warm, but your stomach feels cold, then you are prone to the development of fat build-up in the upper half of your body. This is because fat cannot be lost by way of normal training due to poor blood supply in these areas.
VACUMASSAGE
Suitable candidates for the VacuMassage are those who wish to improve skin texture and appearance of cellulite, as opposed to fat loss. Candidates for the L250 may also wish to combine their program with the
VacuMassage to gain more internal benefits such as detoxification, lymph drainage and a feeling of rejuvenation.

For optimal results, Hypoxi training should be done consistently 2 to 3 times per week for 4 to 6 weeks. It is advisable to have them spread throughout the week, however this is not mandatory. Training sessions will range anywhere between 30 – 45 minutes based on the individual assessment you are given by your Hypoxi operator.
WHAT ARE THE POTENTIAL BENEFITS?
Fat loss in the stomach, hip, buttock and thigh regions
Marked improvement in skin tone and texture
 Increased fat metabolism
 Improved circulation
 Detoxification
 Lymph drainage
 Reduced appearance of cellulite
 A feeling of rejuvenation
IS IT PAINFUL?
No, it is completely non-invasive and pain free. Many clients comment that the horizontal position in which the treatment is administered in the L250 and HDC takes pressure off the joints and lowers the client’s heart rate so that the experience is more liken to a spa therapy than a form of exercise.
IS IT DANGEROUS?
No, all Hypoxi treatments are completely safe. The training machines monitor your pulse rate to ensure that your heart rate is always below your maximum fat burning heart rate. This is normally between 100 and 135 beats per minute, depending on your age and physical condition. For safety reasons, there are certain contraindications which we require you to consider before commencing treatments. If you have any questions or doubts, you should consult your medical practitioner. Your health and safety is our paramount concern.
